Summary: Google’s record would have been terrible with hardware makers, if they didn’t had Android. Sales of Chromebook laptops that run Chrome OS have been quite poor and Google TV has been no good either.
As per current reports, Samsung has been struggling in selling Google Chromebook, whereas Acer was able to sell atleast 5000 Chromebook laptops since the launch last summer. To be honest, these sales numbers make Blackberry Playbook look like a stirring success and one of the best laptops available in the market comparatively 🙂
Even though the sales figures have been meager, Google and its executives haven’t stopped commending Chrome OS for the qualities. Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman also spoke about it in the official speech earlier in the week.
Assumingly, Chrome OS has quite a few advantages, like quick boot-up times than Windows machines, although the verity that it makes users depend on the cloud for their entire apps requirement is a major drawback when you’re not linked to the Internet.
Do you think Google needs to improve quite a bit on its Chromebook laptops and Chrome OS? Should they give up? Whatever the case maybe, let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
